This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
Some features of the website are not accessible via the keyboard and as such do not meet WCAG 2.1.1 standards. This includes the video on the college news page, aspects of the college news, ‘About Us’ and ‘Your campus’ sections on the website.
We are working to resolve these issues via an upgrade to the website which is due for completion by September 2023.
Website content is currently difficult to view at a zoom of 400% and as such does not meet WCAG 1.4.10 standards.
We are working to resolve this issue via an upgrade to the website which is due for completion by September 2023.
The website focus does not currently reflect the sequence when the user is tabbing onto the menu options, on the back button within the menus and to close the hamburger menu and as such does not meet WCAG 2.4.3 standards.
We are working to resolve this issue via an upgrade to the website which is due for completion by September 2023.
Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services, and forms published as Word documents. By September 2023, we plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
