Skills Advisory Board

We’re shaping the next generation of skilled professionals by working closely with employers to ensure our courses and training align with real industry needs.  

Our Employer Advisory Boards bring together businesses, educators, and industry leaders to influence curriculum development. In doing so, we are ensuring students gain the knowledge, skills, and experience to thrive in the workplace. 

As an Employer Advisory Board member, you’ll have a unique opportunity to share your expertise, shape future talent pipelines, and strengthen your connections within your industry.

TSCG Champion

To act as a champion of TSCG and the Further Education and Skills Sector in Greater Manchester. Advisory Board Members to make best endeavours to attend every bi-annual Advisory Board Meeting. 

Provide Feedback

Provide feedback and information on skills and recruitment trends happening within your sector and geographical location operating in. Provide guidance and input into TSCG courses, delivery, and resources.

Be Responsive

Make best endeavours to respond to surveys and information requests from TSCG and other key stakeholders.

Be a Representative

Where relevant, making introductions to key stakeholders e.g. sector bodies, sector specialists and potential partners. Engage with TSCG Activities e.g. Careers Week, Apprenticeship Week and other events that will add value.

Be Committed

Commitment Employers who are representative, of the sector; who bring high-quality industry expertise to the table; and who reflect the different aspects of the sector.  Boards meet twice per year and are 2 hours. 

Influence the workforce of tomorrow 

Help design and refine our curriculum to ensure students develop skills that match employer needs.

Address skills gaps in your industry

Ensure future employees are trained in the areas that matter most to your sector.

How it works

Our Employer Advisory Boards meet regularly to discuss industry trends, skills gaps, and future workforce needs. As a member, your insights help ensure our courses remain relevant and responsive, equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in your sector. 

By working together, we can bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring businesses like yours have access to a highly skilled and work-ready talent pool.
