We are delighted that we can now share the results of our most recent November 2022 Ofsted Inspection Report for The Trafford College Group (TCG).
We were visited by a team of Ofsted reporters across the college group, between the 8th and 11th of November last year.
We are so very proud to say that our overall effectiveness result is that we are a ‘Good Provider’. Receiving ‘good’ results across the board for areas such as quality of education, personal development and behaviour and attitudes.
At the time of the inspection, TCG provided education programmes for 5,032 young people who study A Levels and vocational programmes from entry level to level 3. There were 1,845 adult learners, of which most study English, mathematics and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL). Most of TCG’s 800 apprentices are on standards-based apprenticeships, with the highest enrolments in health and care, engineering or construction. There are 161 learners for whom TCG receive high-needs funding. TCG subcontracts to four providers who provide training for 308 learners aged 16-19.
Within the report, Ofsted discussed what our students said about their experience at TCG.
‘Learners and apprentices enjoy learning at TCG. They talk about the highly inclusive and supportive environment that provides a safe and positive place to learn.
Learners celebrate cultural differences and say that they are proud to represent the college in the community.’
We spoke to TCG Principal, James Scott who talks about the Ofsted result:
“This is a very good report – not least given the context of two mergers within three years and a global pandemic to boot. Colleagues should all be very proud of the many strengths within the report reflecting the great educational experience the vast majority of our students receive through everyone’s hard work and commitment.” – James Scott, Principal
