TSCG 2024 Student Awards for The Cheadle College, Marple Sixth Form College and Stockport College

TSCG held its second award ceremony for the annual student awards at Stockport Town Hall on Thursday 27th June to celebrate the achievements of academic success, hard work, student engagement, commitment and dedication from our Stockport borough colleges.

Over 150 guests attended with over 60 students being celebrated on what was a fantastic summer’s evening.

This is the first year that we have included our student extra awards to recognise those students who actively participate in extra-curricular activities.

All the students that attended were nominated by their tutor or a member of staff, with the winners being selected by our Head of Studies and Assistant Principal leadership team.

James Scott, TSCG Principal welcomed everyone to the evening with three of our Assistant Principals, Helen Wood, Adam Sinnott and Tracey Wood presenting the academic awards. Michelle McLaughlin, TSCG Student Experience Manager presented the student experience awards to students who have achieved have excelled in student experience areas such as Student Leadership, Campaigner of the Year and Special Recognition awards.

Our Outstanding Contribution award for The Cheadle College was awarded to Lewis Richards. Congratulations to Lewis.

Our Outstanding Contribution award for Marple Sixth Form was awarded to Millie Smith. Congratulations to Millie.

Our Outstanding Contribution award for Stockport College was awarded to Ayra Bilal. Congratulations to Ayra.

It was a wonderful event to see so many students being celebrated and TSCG Principal James Scott reflects:

“The range of success stories at these awards, often within the context of challenging circumstances, never ceases to amaze. What I found particularly inspiring was the number of students who have really embraced being part of the college community, going above and beyond to enhance their overall student experience and in the process growing considerably in confidence whilst making a difference to their wider localities. All this and more serves to remind me that collectively we transform the lives of thousands of individuals each year. There is arguably no greater satisfaction, or indeed responsibility.”
