College community spreads festive cheer

This Christmas, our college campuses have been filled with the spirit of giving, as students, staff, and apprentices joined forces to make a meaningful impact in our community.

From Stockport to Trafford and Stretford, we collected dry foods, canned goods, and essential items to help those in need.

These thoughtful donations were delivered to Benchill Community Centre in Wythenshawe, Manchester—a vital hub that supports the elderly, young people, and families.

A special shoutout goes to the amazing apprentices from Essity and their Development Officer, Harry, who went the extra mile by gathering additional supplies and personally delivering them to the donation bank.

We also spread some sporting joy by delivering much-needed kits and equipment to Castle Hill High School. We heard about their struggles with limited sports resources and thanks to a partnership with a referee sportswear company and generous donors, we were able to provide the school with kits, goalkeeper jerseys with numbers, and top-quality EFL footballs.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to these wonderful initiatives—you’ve truly made this festive season brighter for so many!

We’re already gearing up for the New Year Volunteering Fair in Urmston, where our Essity apprentices will roll up their sleeves and get involved in hands-on activities to support the community.

James Scott, Principal and CEO of Trafford & Stockport College Group, said: “The generosity and compassion displayed by our college community this Christmas has been nothing short of remarkable. It’s truly heartwarming to see our students, staff, and apprentices coming together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

“This festive season has highlighted the incredible impact we can achieve when we work together. I’m so proud of everyone who contributed their time, effort, and resources to bring joy and support to those who need it most.

“Wishing you all a safe and peaceful Christmas.”
