This term has been packed with energy, achievement and student leadership across the College, with enrichment activities, debate success and major student voice events showcasing the enthusiasm and talent of our learners. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights.
The spring term began with a burst of energy as the Student Enrichment Team delivered a dynamic programme designed to boost confidence, motivation and connection across our campuses. Students took part in Circus Skills with Circus House, Fitness and Fun sessions with Stockport County Community Trust, an inspiring motivational talk from Baasit Siddiqui, and skill‑building activities with Commando Joe, all of which set a positive tone for the term ahead.
Our Debate Club students also delivered an outstanding performance at Altrincham campus, tackling the motion “Who is responsible for misinformation: social media platforms or individuals?” in a closely contested debate. Team Social Media secured a narrow win with confident, persuasive arguments. We were delighted to welcome Roger Cotes, Director at the Department for Education, whose insightful feedback enriched the event, along with TSCG CEO James Scott, whose support added to the significance of the occasion.
In February, we brought together all our student leaders and course representatives for our annual Student Conference, the biggest student voice event of the year. Centred on employability skills, the conference was fully student‑led, featuring inspiring student speakers and a dedicated leadership panel who listened to students’ ideas and feedback.
To round off a busy term, a group of students represented the College at the L!sten Youth Summit in Stockport, joining young people from across the region to discuss issues that matter to them. They contributed thoughtfully to conversations around wellbeing, community and the future of youth services.
Together, these activities, events and opportunities have made for an inspiring start to the term, showcasing the enthusiasm, talent and leadership of our students. We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue creating meaningful experiences that help every learner grow, connect and thrive.
