Trafford & Stockport College Group proudly hosted its annual Partnerships in Excellence, Apprenticeship and Skills Awards on Thursday 21st May at the iconic People’s History Museum, bringing together employers and apprenticeships to celebrate outstanding achievement across the region.
The event was officially opened by Wayne Jones OBE, newly appointed Chair of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
A former student of Stockport College, Wayne reflected on his own journey and highlighted the important role education and employer partnerships play in developing the region’s future workforce.
Guests also heard from TSCG’s CEO James Scott, who spoke passionately about the importance of funding for FE as a sector and the work being carried out between the college group and employers to develop talent and support economic growth.
The awards ceremony was hosted by TSCG’s Chief People Officer, Tracey Wood, who recognised exceptional learners, employers and partners across a wide range of sectors. Winners were presented with glass trophies and sponsor gift bags, while highly commended nominees received certificates in recognition of their achievements.
Tracey said, “We were incredibly proud to host the Partnerships in Excellence, Apprenticeship and Skills Awards at the People’s History Museum, a fantastic venue for what was our most inspiring celebration yet.
